A traditional Chinese incense recipe from ancient times, blending spices with pear juice (often from the goose pear, a specific Asian pear variety) to create a delicate, fruity-sweet aroma. It was primarily used to scent bed curtains or inner chambers, promoting relaxation and a tranquil atmosphere.
Ingredients:
1–2 ripe goose pears (or Asian pears) – juiced or pulped.
Sandalwood powder (白檀, Bái Tán) – 10g (base note, woody).
Cloves (丁香, Dīng Xiāng) – 2–3g (warm, spicy accent).
Agarwood (沉香, Chén Xiāng) – optional, 1–2g (deep, resinous aroma).
Honey or plum juice – a few drops (as a natural binder).
Fragrance Profile:
Top note: Fresh, fruity sweetness (pear).
Base note: Warm sandalwood and spice (clove).
Effect: Light, soothing, and slightly cooling—ideal for warm climates or relaxation.
